Robert Glasgow was a cordiner in Edinburgh during the mid-seventeenth century. His date and place of birth have not been identified.
Marriage and occupation
Robert married Jonet Thomsone at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, on 1 July 1652. The published Edinburgh marriage register prints her given name as Janet and describes Robert as a cordiner. On 4 July 1666 a Robert Glasgow, also described as a cordiner, was admitted as a burgess of Edinburgh by right of his wife Euphame, daughter of the late Andrew Lorimer, beltmaker and burgess. The matching name, occupation and burgh make the 1666 burgess a strong candidate for the man who married Jonet or Janet Thomsone in 1652. The two records do not, however, directly identify them as the same person.

If the entries concern the same man, Robert's marriage to Jonet had ended and he had married Euphame Lorimer by 4 July 1666. No burial for Jonet, marriage to Euphame, testament or other record directly joining the two entries has yet been identified.

Euphame Lorimer should therefore remain unattached. If she is attached as Robert's wife, the relationship should be marked uncertain.

The former birth estimate of about 1612 is unsupported. No inspected record states Robert's age, birthplace or parentage.
