The Scotland's People marriage index confirms Robert Glasgow and Jonet
Thomsone on 1 July 1652 at Edinburgh, OPR `685/1`, reference `440/13`. The
published register describes Robert as a cordiner. It supplies no age,
parentage or children.

The profile's current suggestion that this man is a strong candidate for the
1666 Edinburgh burgess now needs revision. The 1666 burgess held his right
through wife Euphame Lorimer, and Scotland's People indexes children of Robert
Glasgow and Euphame Lorimer/Laurimer in 1651, 1659, 1662 and 1664. That
persistent household brackets the 1652 Thomsone marriage. It strongly supports
separate men, although original images and craft records are still required for
proof.

This Robert is also not identified with [Robert Glasgow baptised in 1618
(Glasgow-1078)](https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Glasgow-1078). Shared name and the
cordiner trade of the 1618 child's father are insufficient.

North Leith namesake, 1694

The original North Leith poll-tax page dated 3 October 1694 lists `Robt
Glasgow` among four servants in the household of Alexander Ainslie, clerk to
the glass manufactory. A later history dates the entry to 1695 and describes
Robert as a glassmaker, but the original says only servant. On 16 July 1694 a
Robert Glasgow gave a receipt in Ainslie's name for bottles supplied to the
Earl of Breadalbane (`GD112/15/59`, item 24). The shared employer and year make
these almost certainly the same man and prove a functional glassworks-business
role, but not that he was a skilled glassmaker. This man could have been alive
in 1694, but neither record links him to Jonet Thomsone or the cordiner trade.
Treat him as an unresolved same-name candidate.

[Glasgow-3011](https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Glasgow-3011), baptised at
Glencorse in 1676, is a stronger younger candidate for the 1694 servant. Exact
Leith OPR searches found no Glasgow/Glasgo/Glascow/Glaskow/Glassgow baptism in
1694–1730 and no exact Robert Glasgow marriage in 1694–1710 or burial in
1694–1730; register survival and spelling limit the negative evidence.
