* No civil birth record has been found for Samuel. This supports the unidentified child recorded for 1873 for this couple and makes Samuel the best candidate for that entry

In Griffiths Valuation there were:
* Two James in Ballynasollus, perhaps James Glasgow about 1799 to 1882 and James Glasgow about 1828 to 1907
* Four James in Killycurragh, James Glasgow about 1805 to 1875, James Glasgow about 1799 to 1882, and two others unknown

In the 1827 Tithe Applotment Book there was only one James Glasgow listed in the area.

Working hypothesis, James Glasgow about 1799 to 1882 of Ballynasollus could be his father. This remains unproven.

So far no wills or obituaries have been found that confirm the parentage. Since most of David and Mary’s children emigrated, few obituary notices survive in Ireland.
