Biography
John was born 6 Nov 1868 at Killycurragh, County Tyrone. He was the son of farmer David Glasgow, and Mary nee Glasgow.

On 2 Feb 1891 at the registry office in Cookstown, he married Rachel Mitchell(21), daughter of David Mitchell, farmer, Ballynagilly. Witnessed by John Mitchell & Ellen Glasgow.

Although this was a Presbyterian wedding, the family's religious affiliation had changed by 1901 to Christian Brethren.

He was a farmer, and a grocery store keeper.

 He passed away 5 April 1949 age 81, probate to Samuel John Glasgow farmer, and Hartley Glasgow farmer.

Research Notes
On the 1911 census he is "John R Glasgow". No middle name appears on his birth, marriage or death records however.

In the 1899 will of his father-in-law David Mitchell of Ballynagilly, named as executor is "John Glasgow of Cookstown known as manager of the Mid-Ulster mail". That would be a different person, John Glasgow (1862-1957).

At the funeral of Eleanor (Hartley) Mitchell (abt.1824-1901) he is described as "John Glasgow jun.", the senior counterpart being his brother-in-law John Glasgow (abt.1851-1929) also known as "Big John".

Some sources call him "Wee John". The Findagrave has a photo.

Hartley Mitchell (1880-1907) calls his uncles "John Glasgow(Lakeview)" and "John Glasgow(grocer)". William Allen Glasgow (1898-1961)'s 1919 marriage names John as a shopkeeper. So it seems "Big John" must have been "Lakeview".

Some ancestry-com trees name his mother Mary Henry but this is at odds with his birth registration. See mother's profile for more sources.
