About Unknown

Margaret Glasgow, born about 1801 in County Antrim, was the unmarried daughter of Robert Glasgow Glasgow-1367. The 1851 Glenleslie census gives her age and relationship. Robert's will directly calls her “my daughter Margaret Glasgow” and names James Young and Mary Young as her son and daughter.

Overall conclusion

The father of the Young children is not named, and the will does not state that Margaret married. Her current surname is therefore Glasgow. Catherine was Robert's wife in 1851 but is only an uncertain mother of Margaret because the return does not separately state maternity and the will does not name her.

Margaret is distinct from Glasgow-1053, the separate Winters-family profile. The latter's Canadian spouse and children predate the 1851 census, which records this Margaret as unmarried in Ireland.

Mary is now Young-78755. Young-23682, born about 1837 in Ireland, is a possible later identity for James, but no source connects that profile to Glenleslie. Do not create or attach another James until the candidate is resolved.

Margaret Glasgow, born about 1801 in County Antrim, was the unmarried daughter
of Robert Glasgow `Glasgow-1367`. The 1851 Glenleslie census gives her age and
