Sterling Perry Glasgow was the fourth child of William Gilbert Glasgow and Sarah Jane Rebecca Majors Glasgow, arriving on the 7th of August 1864 in Brownville, Nebraska. State of Nebraska Death Certificate for Sterling P Glasgow - shows birth date and place He was followed by 3 more siblings.

He grew up mostly in Peru, Nebraska.

Family
On December 31, 1885 in Brownville he married Harriett Emeline "Hattie" Peery. He was 22 and she was just barely 20. Just about exactly a year later their first child, Blanch was born. She was followed by Sterling Peery "Gov" in 1889, Annabel in 1890, John Paul in 1893, and finally Robert McKinley in 1901.

They had five children:

* Sterling Perry Glasgow (1863- 1910)
* Annabel Glasgow (1890 - 1921)
* John Paul Glasgow (1893 - 1943)
* Robert McKinley Glasgow (1901 - 1955)

In 1900 he was enumerated with his wife children and in the Douglas Election Precinct, Nemaha, Nebraska, United States, NE. "United States Census, 1900", database with images, FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M3BX-6YM : 11 March 2022), S P Glasgow, 1900. 
Occupation
During this time, Sterling was working as a merchant in Auburn in 1900, appointed as Postmaster of Auburn in 1902. 

The book "A Biographical and Genealogical History of Southeastern Nebraska, Vol II, illustrated" (Chicago, New York, the Lewis Publishing Company, 1904) pp 955-958 says that "While at Peru, he was appointed postmaster, under President Harrison's administration, and served a term of four years in that office. Also while at Peru he served two terms as sheriff. He was made postmaster of Auburn in May, 1888, and served efficiently as such for many years. That same year, 1888, Mr. Glasgow built his pleasant home in Auburn, on Maxwell street, where he has five and a half lots. Fraternally, Mr. Glasgow is identified with numerous organizations. He is a member of the Woodmen of the World, the Ancient Order of United Workmen, the Highlanders, the Knights of Pythias, and the Masonic order. In Masonry he has learned the mysteries of blue lodge chapter and commandery, and he is past master of the lodge at Peru. Also he is a member of the Mystic Shrine."

1910 found him selling insurance in Omaha with all five of his children still at home. He died on December 1, 1910 and is buried with his wife Hattie and daughter Annabel.
