James is chronologically excluded as the father of Alexander Glasgow-951. James was born in 1799 and Alexander about 1811, leaving only about twelve years. James's first known children from his earlier marriage begin about 1822, which is consistent with the normal chronology and supplies no reason to move his birth back a generation.

James is a strong candidate for the child baptised at St Luran, Derryloran,
on **21 August 1799** to **William and Mary Glasgow**. The year, parish, child
name and father all agree with James's later records. The baptism supplies no
abode, so identity is probable rather than conclusive.

James is **chronologically excluded as the father of Alexander `Glasgow-951`**.
James was born in 1799 and Alexander about 1811, leaving only about twelve
