The 1847 workhouse return records Boyd Glasgow, 12, of Glenleslie. The 1851 Ballycregagh mortality return calls Boyde Glasgow a son of James Glasgow, age 16, who died in winter 1847. Peggy Hamilton's later marriage means her maternity is unproved but not impossible. Mary in the workhouse group is the stronger candidate; retain Peggy uncertain until a better replacement can be attached.

Macafee's transcription of the Ballymena Workhouse admissions (registration 4407) gives Boyd's admission from Glenleslie on 3 June 1847, aged twelve, with Mary, William James, Mary Jane and Margaret Glasgow, and records him discharged alive on 31 July 1847. Seen as a transcription; original register not seen. With the 1851 mortality return ("died winter 1847"), this places his death after 31 July 1847, probably in the winter of 1847–48 (inference; the census phrase does not say which winter months).

Peggy's reported 1848 marriage to James occurred after Boyd's death, so she should not be treated as his proved mother; however, the marriage date does not make earlier biological maternity impossible. [[Unknown-764460|Mary]] in the 1847 workhouse family is the stronger candidate, although no marriage or baptism naming both parents has been found.
