The 1847 workhouse return records Margaret Glasgow, 16, of Glenleslie. The 1851 Ballycregagh mortality return calls Margaret a twenty-year-old daughter of James Glasgow who died in winter 1850. Peggy Hamilton's 1848 marriage means her maternity is unproved, not impossible. Mary of the matching workhouse group is the stronger candidate, but Peggy remains attached uncertain until a better-supported replacement can be made.

Macafee's transcription of the Ballymena Workhouse admissions (registration 4410) gives Margaret's admission from Glenleslie as 3 June 1847 and records her discharged alive on 18 September 1847. Transcription; original register not seen.

Peggy's reported 1848 marriage to James means she should not be treated as Margaret's proved mother, but the marriage year alone does not make earlier biological maternity impossible. [[Unknown-764460|Mary]] of the 1847 workhouse family is the stronger mother candidate, although no direct maternity record has been found.
