The 5 September master review confirms that Daniel Neely's father link to Thomas Glasgow-987 is proved by his original 1888 marriage. Daniel Glasgow-3896's will independently makes him Thomas's son by calling Daniel Neely a nephew and Thomas the testator's late brother. This does not identify Thomas and Daniel's parents or make Alexander Glasgow-951 their brother.

The existing Glasgow-2413 profile represents Daniel Neely Glasgow. His original 28 June 1888 marriage return names Thomas Glasgow, farmer, as his father and Lisnagaver as Daniel's residence. Daniel Glasgow's 1871 will independently calls Daniel Neely his nephew and Thomas his late brother. The structured marriage date shown as 22 June conflicts with the original return and should be corrected to 28 June 1888.

The original birth returns for Daniel's twin daughters add a significant emigration clue. Both say that Daniel was a labourer residing in New York when Sarah Taylor Glasgow and Elizabeth Boyd Glasgow were born at Tamlaght in September 1889. An Irish-born cemetery labourer named Daniel Glascow who died at Troy, New York, on 12 February 1931 is therefore a strong candidate for the same man. The identity is not yet proved. A bounded free search found no usable census schedule, obituary or newspaper result supplying his wife, parents, precise Irish origin or other identifying details. The cemetery transcription also conflicts with the state index over whether he died in 1913 or 1931. The death certificate has not been purchased or inspected.

In the 1910 US census, Watervliet Ward 1, Albany County, New York, Daniel Glasgow, 50 (born c.1860), born Ireland, both parents born Ireland, married, immigration year 1890, was a lodger in James Holmes's household (Findmypast transcript USC/1910/004972898/00195/009). The Albany County Naturalization Index has a Daniel Glasgow in Book 3, page 242 (US/NY/ALBANYCO/NATIDX/019593).

  • Watervliet (formerly West Troy) lies across the Hudson from Troy, where the existing candidate Daniel Glascow, cemetery labourer, died. The 1890 arrival year fits the twin daughters' 1889 birth returns, which describe Daniel as residing in New York; census arrival years are often approximate. A married man boarding alone also fits a wife left at Tamlaght.
  • The age is a caution. A birth c.1860 should be compared with the age on the 1888 marriage return; the profile title currently gives born 1870.
