Summary of the research
Overall conclusion
Their only presently identified child, William James McCracken, was born at Lisnagaver on 21 September 1877. He died there the next day from debility from birth; Ann was informant for both registrations. He therefore left no descendants. No later child, secure later household, remarriage, or death has yet been identified for Ann or her husband.
Robert's family can now be placed in a narrower candidate McCracken cluster. Griffith's Valuation lists Robert and William McCracken at Carnfinton, the reported birth townland of Thomas Glasgow's wife Mary Ann McCracken. Later marriages identify several children of a William McCracken in that townland. James William and Elizabeth are the strongest reconstructed sibling pair because Elizabeth's 1889 marriage was witnessed by James McCracken. Mary Ann is independently reinforced: she married George Mark, son of Alexander Mark, and an Alexander Marks witnessed James William in 1886. Ann's husband Robert may be another sibling, but his 1876 register describes father William as a labourer rather than a farmer and gives Robert's residence as Lisnagaver. Treat this as a strong lead, not a proved attachment.

Her maiden name, her mother's maiden name (Mary McAughin/McCaughan) and her age (4 in 1851) identify her as Alexander-951's daughter. Her brother Robert-938 had settled in Calton. The register image (6 ScotlandsPeople credits) has not been viewed. It should give the exact date, her husband's status, her parents and the informant. The live profile was updated with death year 1898 and place Calton, Glasgow, both certain. The 1888 Gortahar informant, then read as "Nancy Glasgow, daughter", is now read as Mary Glasgow (6 October 2026), so Ann is not in question.

This is a new Glasgow-associated record and is relevant to Ann Glasgow because the informant's name and place match her documented 1851 household and later Lisnagaver marriage residence.

James William–Elizabeth is directly reinforced by a cross-witness, while the Alexander Marks witness may connect James to Mary Ann's Mark in-laws. If William proves to have been Thomas's wife Mary Ann's brother, Ann Glasgow—whose father Alexander is Thomas's possible brother or cousin—married Mary Ann's nephew. That would be unusually specific evidence of two Glasgow households marrying within one extended Carnfinton McCracken family. The informant column reads Nancy Glasgow, her mark, daughter, present at death, Gortahar. This supplies a concrete residence for tracing Nancy but does not identify her with Ann or Thomas's daughter. Alexander's 16 May 1888 death remains the best-supported probable match for Glasgow-951; the family and place evidence is indirect, and the death's reported age of 84 conflicts with his 1851 census age of 40.

Death-informant correction — 6 October 2026
The informant in death entry 348 reads Mary Glasgow, her mark, daughter, present at death, Gortahar. The forename matches the registrar's "Mary" in entries 345, 330 and 358 and differs from his "Nancy" in entry 355. The 24 August reading was right and the 13 September change to Nancy was the error. Ann is therefore not the informant, and no "Nancy" alias needs to be found for her. The informant was most probably her sister Mary (Glasgow-3167), by then Mrs Elder of Gortahar. Details are in the 6 October source audit in research/Glasgow-951/findings.md.
The live profile's research note still says that "Nancy Glasgow" registered the death. A replacement paragraph is queued locally; nothing has been saved on WikiTree.

The informant in [death entry 348](https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/files/civil/deaths_returns/deaths_1888/06179/4766466.pdf) reads **Mary Glasgow**, her mark, daughter, present at death, Gortahar. The forename matches the registrar's "Mary" in entries 345, 330 and 358 and differs from his "Nancy" in entry 355. The 24 August reading was right and the 13 September change to Nancy was the error. Ann is therefore not the informant, and no "Nancy" alias needs to be found for her. The informant was most probably her sister Mary (Glasgow-3167), by then Mrs Elder of Gortahar. Details are in the 6 October source audit in `research/Glasgow-951/findings.md`. The live profile's research note still says that "Nancy Glasgow" registered the death. A replacement paragraph is queued locally; nothing has been saved on WikiTree.
