Biography

In the 1851 Irish Census he appears in Lisnagaver, Rasharkin, a 10 year old in a small farming household with his parents and siblings James and Anna. Griffith’s Valuation lists him in the early 1860s at Gortereghy in Rasharkin Parish, which places him in rural work as a young adult.

Migration to Scotland
Soon after marriage Robert and Jane moved to Glasgow. They settled among Irish families in the east end, where steady wages existed in mills, ironworks, and the meat trade. This shift from field to city gave the family a platform for stability as children arrived.

Death
Robert died on 27 November 1902 in Glasgow, aged 62. Cause of death was chronic bronchitis. Burial followed in December 1902.
