The 5 September master review confirms Robert as Alexander's son from the 1851 household and his 1866 marriage, which names Alexander Glasgow, farmer. The often-repeated exact birth date 6 November 1840 remains unsupported; retain an estimated birth from the census and marriage ages.
Robert Glasgow-938, not older Robert Glasgow-1367, is the materially best
candidate for the Robert Glasgow listed at Gortereghy in Griffith's Valuation.
The identification is probable but still inferential (unresolved in the correction note of 23 September 2026; see below) because the valuation gives
no age or relative.
The Scottish continuation needs an original-record bridge. Precise child-birth references are now available, but neither image was read in the 13 September follow-up. This limitation does not weaken the direct Irish father–son evidence above.
The newly inspected 6 January 1892 newspaper names Jane Graham as Robert Glasgow's wife, gives her death on 28 December at 534 Gallowgate, aged 51, and associates the couple with Rasharkin. This strongly matches the existing Jane profile's exact death date/address and supports the existing spouse connection. The wider Scottish identity bridge and the separate 1861 neighbour identification retain their earlier qualifications.

Lisnagaver residence is documented on both sides of 1861. Competitors: Glasgow-3449 (b. c.1797, married labourer, died in Ballymoney Workhouse 1868) is linked to Lisnagaver only by an unproved 1834 tithe candidacy; Robert Irvine Glasgow-3897 (b. 1827) belongs to Daniel's Kilrea family. Belfast News-Letter, 7 January 1861, p.4, “Shocking catastrophe at Rasharkin”, describes Robt. Glasgow as a neighbour at Lisnagaver. He warned James M’Caughern about a dangerous gable before the house collapsed, narrowly escaped in the doorway and raised the alarm. The original passage was inspected 3 October 2026. It states no Glasgow age, parents or occupation.

The household is headed by Alexander Glasgow, 29, with wife Mary, 35, and children Thomas 10, Jane G 8, John C 6, Archibald C 3 and Alexander 0. A second boarder is Matilda Glasgow, 11, born Glasgow (GBC/1901/0036891792).
- 58 East Rose Street is the address of Robert's death on 27 November 1902. Alexander, 29, fits Robert's son Glasgow-937, born 22 April 1871 at 36 Graham Street. Matilda fits the daughter listed in the 1891 Gallowgate household.
- Correction needed: the biography's research note says "A different Robert Glasgow appears in the 1901 census with children Matilda, John C, Archibald C, and Alexander. That set does not match this profile." That reading is wrong. Those people are Robert's son, grandchildren and daughter, and Robert is a boarder in his son's home.
- The household chain now runs without a gap: 1871 at 36 Graham Street (indexed "Glasco"), 1881 at 59 McKechnie Street, 1891 at 534 Gallowgate, the 6 January 1892 notice ("formerly of Rasharkin"), 1901 at 58 East Rose Street, and death there in 1902. This is index-level; the original 1901 return has not been viewed.

New 1911 Gortereghy Graham household lead, 17 September 2026
The 1911 Gortereghy census browse lists James Graham, aged 26, as head of household with Etta Graham, aged 23, as his wife. This exact household is absent from the associated Glasgow-938/Jane Graham catalogue. Because Jane Graham, wife of Robert Glasgow, was resident at Gortereghy before her 1866 marriage, the household is a useful local Graham-family lead, but no record yet connects James or Etta to Jane's parents or siblings. The source is a derivative census presentation and requires the original 1911 forms for final verification.

Robert Glasgow-938 and Robert Glasgow-3449 remain compatible candidates. Robert-938’s later Scottish death is not a conflict with Irish residence in 1861. The notice does not establish that its man was either candidate, the Gortereghy valuation holder, or a relative of the named M’Caughern household.

The 6 January 1892 notice calls Jane Graham "wife of Robert Glasgow, formerly of Rasharkin". "Wife of", where a widow would be called relict or widow, indicates that Robert was living when she died on 28 December 1891. Nancy Glasgow's Clinton County citation, dated 14 January 1892, names James, Mary and Ann as the children of Alexander Glasgow and does not name Robert. The citation therefore omitted a living son of Alexander. Its lists reflect the petitioner's knowledge and cannot be read as complete; see the 6 October source audit in research/Glasgow-951/findings.md.
The same notice joins the Robert Glasgow of 534 Gallowgate to Rasharkin through his wife's name, age and death, so the Scottish identity bridge no longer depends on the two unread Bridgeton birth images. Those images, and the original of his reported 1902 death, remain worth reading for dates and informants.

A correction note of 23 September 2026 in research/Glasgow-951/findings.md records the project owner's report that Robert died in Scotland, and that Robert was therefore not linked as the Robert Glasgow of Gortereghy in Griffith's Valuation (about 1861). It names the only other candidate so far as the 1868 workhouse decedent Glasgow-3449 and treats the identity as unresolved, while noting that a later death in Scotland does not exclude Robert holding land at Gortereghy at about twenty.
No new record lies behind that change. The evidence above (the 1866 marriage linking Lisnagaver and Gortereghy, and the 18c house in the revision books from 1864) still favours this Robert over Glasgow-3449, a married labourer who died in Ballymoney Workhouse on 31 March 1868 aged 71. It does not identify him, because no valuation entry gives an age or relative. "Materially best candidate" above is a weighing between candidates, not an identification: the Gortereghy entry is a probable, unproved identity for this Robert.

This exact household is absent from the associated Glasgow-938/Jane Graham catalogue. Because Jane Graham, wife of [[Glasgow-938|Robert Glasgow]], was resident at Gortereghy before her 1866 marriage, the household is a useful local Graham-family lead, but no record yet connects James or Etta to Jane's parents or siblings. [Belfast News-Letter, 7 January 1861, p.4](https://www.newspapers.com/image/387764534/), “Shocking catastrophe at Rasharkin”, describes **Robt. Glasgow** as a neighbour at **Lisnagaver**. He warned James M’Caughern about a dangerous gable before the house collapsed, narrowly escaped in the doorway and raised the alarm. The original passage was inspected 3 October 2026. It states no Glasgow age, parents or occupation.
Identity assessment
[Robert Glasgow-938](https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Glasgow-938) and [Robert Glasgow-3449](https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Glasgow-3449) remain compatible candidates. Robert-938’s later Scottish death is not a conflict with Irish residence in 1861. The notice does not establish that its man was either candidate, the Gortereghy valuation holder, or a relative of the named M’Caughern household.

Relationship assessment — Robert and the 1892 citation, 6 October 2026
The [6 January 1892 notice](https://www.newspapers.com/image/388125998/) calls Jane Graham "wife of Robert Glasgow, formerly of Rasharkin". "Wife of", where a widow would be called relict or widow, indicates that Robert was living when she died on 28 December 1891. Nancy Glasgow's Clinton County citation, dated 14 January 1892, names James, Mary and Ann as the children of Alexander Glasgow and does not name Robert. The citation therefore omitted a living son of Alexander. Its lists reflect the petitioner's knowledge and cannot be read as complete; see the 6 October source audit in `research/Glasgow-951/findings.md`. The same notice joins the Robert Glasgow of 534 Gallowgate to Rasharkin through his wife's name, age and death, so the Scottish identity bridge no longer depends on the two unread Bridgeton birth images. Those images, and the original of his reported 1902 death, remain worth reading for dates and informants.

### Findmypast sweep — 7 October 2026
**Robert was living at his death address in the 1901 Scotland census.** Findmypast transcript `GBC/1901/0036891791` (1901 England, Wales & Scotland Census): **Robert Glasgow**, boarder, widower, 60, annuitant, born Ireland, at **58 East Rose Street, Camlachie, Glasgow**. The household is headed by **Alexander Glasgow**, 29, with wife Mary, 35, and children Thomas 10, Jane G 8, John C 6, Archibald C 3 and Alexander 0. A second boarder is **Matilda Glasgow**, 11, born Glasgow (`GBC/1901/0036891792`).
- 58 East Rose Street is the address of Robert's death on 27 November 1902. Alexander, 29, fits Robert's son Glasgow-937, born 22 April 1871 at 36 Graham Street. Matilda fits the daughter listed in the 1891 Gallowgate household.
- **Correction needed:** the biography's research note says "A different Robert Glasgow appears in the 1901 census with children Matilda, John C, Archibald C, and Alexander. That set does not match this profile." That reading is wrong. Those people are Robert's son, grandchildren and daughter, and Robert is a boarder in his son's home.
- The household chain now runs without a gap: 1871 at 36 Graham Street (indexed "Glasco"), 1881 at 59 McKechnie Street, 1891 at 534 Gallowgate, the 6 January 1892 notice ("formerly of Rasharkin"), 1901 at 58 East Rose Street, and death there in 1902. This is index-level; the original 1901 return has not been viewed.
- The 1871 return (`GBC/1871/0024559614`) also lists **William Glasco**, son, 12, born Ireland c.1859. That is before the 5 April 1866 marriage to Jane Graham, so his parentage should be checked on the original.

A correction note of 23 September 2026 in `research/Glasgow-951/findings.md` records the project owner's report that Robert died in Scotland, and that Robert was therefore not linked as the Robert Glasgow of Gortereghy in Griffith's Valuation (about 1861). It names the only other candidate so far as the 1868 workhouse decedent [Glasgow-3449](https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Glasgow-3449) and treats the identity as unresolved, while noting that a later death in Scotland does not exclude Robert holding land at Gortereghy at about twenty. No new record lies behind that change. The evidence above (the 1866 marriage linking Lisnagaver and Gortereghy, and the 18c house in the revision books from 1864) still favours this Robert over Glasgow-3449, a married labourer who died in Ballymoney Workhouse on 31 March 1868 aged 71. It does not identify him, because no valuation entry gives an age or relative. "Materially best candidate" above is a weighing between candidates, not an identification: the Gortereghy entry is a probable, unproved identity for this Robert. Next record: the year in which Robert's 18c entry was struck out of the 1865–84 revision book.
