Betham's newly inspected genealogical abstract names Archibald Glasgow of Rathmalton, County Donegal, clerk, with a will dated April 1673. It explicitly identifies Thomas Glasgow as his eldest son and Margaret as his only daughter; wife Elizabeth's surname is read provisionally as M'Auley. This supersedes the former statement that no spouse or child was known. The inspected manuscript is a pre-destruction abstract, not the complete will. April 1673 is its will date; the separate index gives probate in 1677.

The exact name, residence and clerical designation confidently identify the Irish testator with the Irish cleric represented by this profile. Rathmalton is Ramelton; the 1675/76 Ramelton bond-holder is almost certainly the same man. The 1679 Archibald Glascoe of Rathmatton entry is probably a duplicate or later probate action, with its date discrepancy still unresolved.

Matching his now-documented eldest son to Thomas of Lifford/Raphoe (Glasgow-3556) is strongly probable, but a distinctive household, associate or estate connection is still needed before changing that live father field from uncertain. Uncommon name, compatible generation and Donegal geography support the match; the abstract gives the son no residence, age, wife or estate.

The Irish cleric's identification with the Scottish child baptised in 1614 and M.A. in 1635 remains probable. No inspected Irish record names his Scottish parents or university. Live WikiTree father status for Thomas-3556 was uncertain (10) on 30 September 2026. The new abstract proves the Irish Archibald's fatherhood of a Thomas; it does not alone identify that son with the later Lifford esquire. No rival contemporary Donegal Thomas has been positively identified. A distinctive shared estate, associate or relative would resolve the remaining gap; a second literal father clause is not required.

The original image was not inspected for this note.

A sibling or cousin relationship with William Glasgow (Glasgow-992), whose banns or marriage with Bessie Howie are indexed at Glasgow on 5 December 1635, has been suggested because of the shared Howie surname. William-992's own findings also note a William Howie as witness at a William Glasgow baptism. The 1614 entry does not say William Howie was a relative, so the link is a network clue only (inference) and William should not be attached as Archibald's brother. A proposed great-uncle link to Archibald Glasgow (Glasgow-1097) likewise depends on unproved reconstructed links.

A sibling or cousin relationship with [William Glasgow (Glasgow-992)](https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Glasgow-992), whose banns or marriage with Bessie Howie are indexed at Glasgow on 5 December 1635, has been suggested because of the shared Howie surname. William-992's own findings also note a William Howie as witness at a William Glasgow baptism. The 1614 entry does not say William Howie was a relative, so the link is a network clue only (inference) and William should not be attached as Archibald's brother.
