William's testament dative (NRS Edinburgh Commissary Court CC8/8/62, images 461–462, confirmed 22 July 1646) records £20 Scots owed by Andro Glasgow in Woodhead and £2 10s associated with the late John Glasgow in England. These are financial connections only; neither man is called a relative.

Jonet Meik's testament testamentar (NRS Glasgow Commissary Court CC9/7/5, images 82–83, recorded 27 August 1607) names Ninian Glasgow as her spouse and Robert Glasgow (Glasgow-1027) as her son, but does not name William. If William was Ninian's son, Jonet is only a possible mother; an earlier wife cannot be excluded. The manuscript surname is Meik; "Melk" in electronic indexes is best treated as a transcription error. Seen as cited in the reviewed draft.

Potential-father review — 10 August 2026

George Glasgow (Glasgow-1099) is not supported as William's father. The earlier assertion here that Ninian's 1613 testament directly names a son William is superseded by the original-image rereads: the damaged relationship wording cannot securely establish sonship, and the record does not identify the William occurrence as the Leith mealmaker. No inspected record establishes George as this William's father either. Repeated Archibald and George names in later descendants do not identify a parent. Collateral-cluster significance - 31 August 2026

William's Leith residence and his son Archibald's 1639 apprenticeship to an Edinburgh cordiner provide the strongest geographic/trade bridge for the disconnected women Barbara-3182, Margaret-3598, Barbara-3302 and Isobel-3336. Their South Leith or Edinburgh records and cordiner/tailor husbands fit possible sisters or nieces of William. This strengthens the family model but proves no individual sister.

Glasgow High Kirk Baptisms 1609–1777, volume 1/962, records William Glasgw, lawful son of William Glasgw and Christian Scot, baptised on 8 November 1612; the witnesses were John Allassoun and Mathew Sympsoun. Seen as cited in the reviewed draft; the draft does not say whether the image was read. The elder William is chronologically compatible with the later Leith mealmaker, but no residence, occupation or relative identifies them as the same man. Christian Scot is therefore only a possible wife, and the 1612 child is not shown to be his.
