Marion Glasgow-3062 is Ninian’s documented sister in his 1613 testament. Combined with Ninian’s 1596 burgess admission as Robert Glasgow-1096’s second son, their shared surname and compatible chronology support Robert as Marion’s confident inferred father. The live status was saved and verified on 28 September 2026; no concrete alternative father is known. Marion’s mother remains uncertain. This is a reassessment of the existing records.

Father assessment: Robert Glasgow (about 1520), fisher and burgess of Glasgow is confirmed by record. The attached John Glasgow (1516) should be removed as father.

Elizabeth Glasgow, widow of Alexander Kaine is a plausible possible older sister, but should not be attached. Ninian's son Robert and possible son William each have a daughter recorded as Elizabeth/Elizabethe or Bessie, creating an independent two-branch naming echo. No record calls Elizabeth Ninian's sister, the name was common, and her current before 1530 birth only fits their father Robert if Robert's approximate 1520 estimate is substantially too late.

Fresh visual reading of NRS CC9/7/9, images 142-145, confirms the explicit spouse, son, brother and sister clauses. Jonet Hutchesoun is Ninian's spouse; Robert is his son; John is his brother; Marioun is his sister. The damaged passage does not securely establish William as another son. Jonet Hutchesoun is not thereby proved Robert's mother; the separate Jonet Meik testament is the relevant maternity evidence. No identity bridge to Glasgow-1030 is added.

Ninian's testament testamentar and inventory (NRS Glasgow Commissary Court CC9/7/9, images 142–145) states that he died in January 1613 ("Quha deceist in the moneth of Januar"; the year is written in numerals, expanded as 1613 in the transcription). His latter will is dated at Glasgow on an unread day of "Januar 1613" (working transcription research/transcriptions/originals-2026-09-09/ninian-1613.json, reviewed 10 September 2026, which leaves the day unresolved). The earlier draft's "made 10 January 1613" therefore gives a day that the reviewed transcription does not confirm. The testament was confirmed on 8 May 1613; that is not his death date. Scotland had begun the year on 1 January since 1600, so January 1613 needs no Old Style double-dating. Seen as a working transcription of the original images. Jonet Hutchesoun was his spouse when the will was made.

George Crawfurd, A Sketch of the Rise and Progress of the Trades' House of Glasgow (1858), pp. 49, 56–57, prints a 1605 roll that places Ninian among Glasgow's mariners and fishers. This is a printed derivative, consistent with the 1596 burgess entry and the testament's "fischer".

Ninian was a fisher and burgess of Glasgow, not a flesher.
Jonet Hutchesoun is expressly his spouse and executor.
Robert Glasgow is expressly his son.
John Glasgow is expressly his brother; Glasgow-1030 remains the leading existing-profile candidate, not a proved identity.
Marioun (Marion) Glasgow is expressly his sister, not his daughter. Combined with Ninian’s 1596 admission as Robert’s second son, their shared surname and compatible chronology support Robert as Marion’s confident inferred father. No concrete alternative father is known; Marion’s mother remains uncertain.
William Glasgow occurs in the debt/damaged opening material, but the claimed words his sone cannot be securely recovered. Glasgow-3075 remains only a possible son and possible identity match.

Jonet Hutchesoun's status as Ninian's spouse does not make her Robert's mother. Robert's maternity rests on the separate 1607 testament of Jonet Meik. The exact description of the clothing left to brother John is unresolved and should not be quoted as a new gown without a clearer image.

Elizabeth Hutchesoun received £5, but her relationship is not stated. George Glasgow, Ninian Hill, David Stevin and notary Mr Jeronimus Hutchesoun occur as witnesses or in the administration; George and Ninian Hill recur in the caution arrangements. Four disconnected women now have a coherent branch placement in Ninian's household or immediate collateral circle. Jonat Glasgow (Glasgow-3262), mother of a child baptised at Mid Calder in 1609, repeats the name of Ninian's wife Jonet Meik. Barbara-3182 had a South Leith entry in 1611; Margaret-3598, Barbara-3302 and Isobel-3336 married two cordiners and a tailor at Edinburgh in 1611-19.

This is family-specific evidence: Ninian's proved son Robert was a cordiner; his possible son William moved into Leith; and William's son was apprenticed to a cordiner. The repeated trade/locality make the women possible daughters/nieces, with Jonat-3262 the strongest individual daughter placement. Neither testament names them as daughters, so no exact edge is confident.

Ninian's testament testamentar and inventory (NRS Glasgow Commissary Court CC9/7/9, images 142–145) states that he died in January 1613 ("Quha deceist in the moneth of Januar"; the year is written in numerals, expanded as 1613 in the transcription). His latter will is dated at Glasgow on an unread day of "Januar 1613" (working transcription `research/transcriptions/originals-2026-09-09/ninian-1613.json`, reviewed 10 September 2026, which leaves the day unresolved). The earlier draft's "made 10 January 1613" therefore gives a day that the reviewed transcription does not confirm. The testament was confirmed on 8 May 1613; that is not his death date. Scotland had begun the year on 1 January since 1600, so January 1613 needs no Old Style double-dating. Seen as a working transcription of the original images. Jonet Hutchesoun was his spouse when the will was made.

George Crawfurd, *A Sketch of the Rise and Progress of the Trades' House of Glasgow* (1858), pp. 49, 56–57, prints a 1605 roll that places Ninian among Glasgow's mariners and fishers. This is a printed derivative, consistent with the 1596 burgess entry and the testament's "fischer".
