Life details

James Glasgow, commissioned chaplain of Edinburgh Castle in 1737 and ordained its minister on 14 February 1738 (Daily Gazetteer reports), is James, son of Rev. John Glasgow of Kilbirnie and Margaret Scott. The Fasti names him M.A. Glasgow 1718, gives his death on 9 February 1746 aged about 48, and the Kilbirnie Fasti entry lists "James, min. of Edinburgh Castle" among the children of that second marriage.
